BE A BRUIN HEADS INTO PRODUCTION  5/12/06

Moody Street Pictures has teamed up with NESN, New England’s most watched sports network, and One-on-One Productions to co-produce a reality/competition series called Be A Bruin. Developed by Bruins legend Brad Park and his partner Chris Miller (One-on-One Productions), this new NESN series will follow a field of dedicated hockey players seeking to fulfill a lifelong dream of playing for the Bruins. These Be A Bruin participants will go through two stages of competition as they vie for one of three invitations (one forward, one defenseman, one goaltender) to the 2006 Bruins training camp and possibly a professional contract.

Be a Bruin is scheduled to air on NESN in the fall 2006 in eight half-hour episodes chronicling the players’ journeys from their first day trying out for the competition to the three winners’ participation in Bruins Training Camp.

“Be a Bruin will be an entertaining complement to NESN’s comprehensive Bruins coverage,” said Joel Feld, NESN’s Vice President of Programming. “The concept fits nicely into NESN’s overall original programming strategy to provide the region’s sports fans with a closer connection to the teams that they follow.”

Hockey players who think they have what it takes to play for the Bruins can register for the first phase of the competition beginning March 3rd at www.beabruin.com, pay a non-refundable $100 entry fee and report to the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Massachusetts in late April – early May. Be a Bruin hopefuls will be evaluated by performing 8 different measurable skills, which involve shooting, skating and stick handling drills. The on-ice evaluations of these skills will be strictly quantitative and objective.
